The KC Chiefs Tickets – Vanishing Before You Can React

Posted on May 22nd, 2008 in Uncategorized by admin

The KC Chiefs Chiefs and their founder – Lamar Hunt have done much to change the face of American Football. In fact Lamar Hunt was responsible for the merger of the American Football League and the National Football League, a move that did much to simplify American Football and make life easier for its fans. KC Chiefs football tickets disappear much before one would expect. Therefore, you must make sure that you book your Chiefs tickets in advance.

The Story Of Success

Originally formed in 1960 in Dallas, the team moved to Kansas City in 1963 and was renamed the Kansas City Chiefs. The ‘Chiefs’ in the name is partly in honor of the Mayor of Kansas – H Roe Bartle who was nicknamed the Chief and had a great role in persuading Lamar Hunt to move to his city.

For around the next ten years, the Kansas City Chiefs were the most successful team in the AFL. They won the league championship in 1963, 1966 and 1969 and achieved a record 92-50 score over the years. The Chiefs were also the second AFL team to defeat an NFL club (the well regarded Minnesota Vikings during Super Bowl IV).

If ever a team has had solid fan support, it is the Chiefs. The Arrowhead Stadium – the home base of the team has had a record 149 sell out games and a record of 104 – 40 while playing at home since the 1990s. Whether the Chiefs win or lose, their fans are vocal and visible everywhere. There is also a tradition of booing opposing teams and that has been broken rarely. The last time was in 2001 when the New York Giants were spared the ‘honor’ of being booed.

Besides football, the Chiefs’ management has taken care to develop a culture all its own. This also accounts for the diehard fan support that the Chiefs have. For example, the FM commentary rights agreement between the KCFX is one of the longest running contracts in the NFL. KCFX has broadcast all Chiefs’ games since 1989 and while Mitch Holthus is the current play announcer, many previous commentators are still associated with the commentary and stay on to add comments and color. The Chiefs’ radio network is large. It extends over six states and has 61 affiliate stations.

Yet another crowd pulling feature with the Chiefs has been Warpaint. He is a Pinto horse that was ridden bareback by rider Bob Johnson wearing a full Native American head-dress. The rider horse duo circled the field before the start of every home game and performed victory laps after each touchdown. Warpaint (and Bob) were retired after 1989 but there is a strong demand to get them back. The management is also inclined to do so.

With the vast fan following that the Kansas City Chiefs have managed to acquire and keep, practically every game is sold out. Most fans of course have realized that the best and least troublesome method of getting their tickets is by getting them online from reputed ticket selling franchises. It spares you the hassles of traveling and waiting, only to be told that all tickets have already been snapped up. An online booking generally guarantees good tickets, great prices and an enjoyable game.

What Makes a True Friend?

Posted on May 12th, 2008 in Friendship, Relationship by admin

True friends are hard to find. I personally can count with the fingers of one hand the amount of true friends that I have. So what constitutes a true friend? There are times in each of our lives when we are in need of real help. We may be in serious trouble, we may have made a huge mistake, we may be extremely depressed, we maybe very sad or we may be short of money. A true friend will be more than happy to help us in these types of situation, without reservation. They will not judge us on the predicament that we have found ourselves however much we are to blame. This true friend will not spread our gossip to other people and will be there to offer advice and support. You will be able to trust your true friends one hundred percent. They will pick you up when you are down, they will be a shoulder to cry on when you are upset and will be somebody who you spend many an evening having spills and frills.A true friend will make time for you when you are in need of their company. They will share your good news and bad. They are likely to be interested in all aspects of your life and will not desert you for other people. So how many of these types of friend have you? If you have more than five then I will be very jealous, I hope you realise just how lucky you are.

True Friendship - An Eternal Enigma

Posted on May 12th, 2008 in Friendship, Relationship by admin

We learn the value of friendship from a very early age. True friendship is unconditional: it is an enigma - selfless loving and giving. Perhaps we are too busy pursuing our careers that we tend to ignore the most beautiful thing in our lives: love and friendship. Everyone has different ideas about relationships and the approach may differ. It helps one to know that there are ‘givers and takers’ in this world and a role reversal is quite unlikely. Friends may disappoint you sometimes by not living up to your expectations. One who feels that he or she is putting more into relationships need not feel nobler as others may not feel the same. Before you judge someone it is prudent to consider that he or she may be incapable of love or friendship in the same way. Therefore, it is the interpretation of the measure of love or friendship that is under scrutiny; perhaps the person who realizes this has earned the right to be noble.

Human relationship is perhaps an enigma that can make you or break you. The precious bond between mother and baby is the most sacred of all, which starts in the womb; this bonding gradually blossoms into its various forms. The new life grows within her and it is no surprise that she guards it with her life from that moment. The baby comes into this world crying; announcing to the world its arrival or perhaps a cry of protest for being born. That precious bundle is loved, cuddled and smothered in kisses from the moment of its birth - the ‘human relationship machinery’ sets its wheels rolling. Parents, relatives and friends engulf the new life with their brand of love and care. Children grow into adults knowing the values of love and understanding or animosity and selfishness. They start seeing the world through their parents’ eyes and therefore, the parents have a greater responsibility during the formative years of their children.

How To Care For Your Sleeping Bag

Posted on May 12th, 2008 in Bags, Sleeping Bags by admin

Sleeping bags can all be professionally cleaned by cleaners who specialize in cleaning outdoor products, even down and synthetic fill. If you dry-clean a sleeping bag it will reduce the loft and your sleeping bag will lose warmth. If you would like to clean a sleeping bag yourself, it can be machine washed in a front-loader.Do not use a top loader, the agitator will destroy your sleeping bag. First, zip all of the zippers and turn the bag inside out. Second, use the gentle/delicate setting and wash your bag in cold water with mild powder or a special wash for the type of fill in your sleeping bag. Next your sleeping bag can be dried in a large commercial dryer ONLY on very low heat. Home dryer have been known to melt holes in the fabric.
